18 year old, Zach Sobiech lost his 4 year battle with cancer in May, however he wanted to leave something important behind for his loved ones and fans. Throughout his battle with cancer, Zach turned to music as a way to accept the cards that have been dealt to him. He began writing songs, so that he could not only cope with his disease, but to leave a lasting impact on many people after he was gone, especially his family and friends who loved him very much. Zach was always the person you wanted to be around because of his positivity and great personality. He was a major supporter of his siblings, parents and girlfriend. He didn't want his death to be devastating to his family, and he wanted to lighten up their lives even after he was gone.
Zach wrote the song "Clouds" which went viral along with his story. With the help from some film makers and music companies, Zach was able to live his dream by recording some of his songs, and he was also able to make an impact on millions of people. All Zach ever wanted to do was make other people happy, but the film makers were able to contact many famous celebrities to help make Zach the happy one. All of these people were in a video lip syncing Zach's song "Clouds."
The Celebrity Music Video of "Clouds"
Although Zach lost his courageous battle to cancer, he inspired so many people, including myself to live life to the fullest every day and see the good in people. He also said an empowering line that stuck with me since I've seen the video. "You don't need to find out your dying to start living." He left an impact on me, and millions of people, including celebrities. Zach's life was cut short, but he lived every second of it to the fullest, and left his mark in this world. Zach Sobiech will live on in many peoples hearts, even if he is now just up in the clouds.
Here is the video that inspired millions

Miley Can't be Tamed
There has been one name recently that has been the talk of social media, pop culture and the music industry, and she is not Hannah Montana anymore. Miley Cyrus has had people turning heads, and closing their eyes as shes been preforming half naked and controversial shows lately. Now, I didn't want my first actual blog post to be about Miley, but I couldn't help myself because she is all over the news right now.
She has been changed her image drastically within the past year, and it isn't necessarily for the better. I get it, she doesn't want to be seen as Hannah Montana for the rest of her life, and wants the world to see that she is now a 20 pop star, not a tween Disney channel star. However, her approach to changing her image is a little over the top. It started a few months ago when she shaved her head and went blonde, (looking like Draco Malfoy), getting a lot of tattoos and wearing um lets see... barely any clothes. Then her VMA performance left people talking; as a matter of fact, they are still talking. The half naked, tongue out, twerking Miley made a lot of jaws drop all around the country. Within seconds, she was trending, and not many positive things were being said. Recently, her "Wrecking Ball" video was released which also turned a lot of heads considering she was once again half naked, oh and making out with a sledgehammer while swinging naked from a wrecking ball. Classic 2013 Miley. Many people truly love and can connect with the song. I personally think it is a great song with relatable lyrics, but I wasn't really sure how I felt about the song while watching the video.
Last week, Miley had a very emotional performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, because it was her first performance since her break up. Although she was half naked, she did have a very emotional performance and I have to give her credit, because she was truly into the song. She was crying throughout the song, but many people were able to connect. Her emotions were raw, and I respect her for getting through the song. You could tell she was getting her feelings out through her lyrics, and it was pretty cool to see. Miley's Emotional Performance

What will be Covered
Music is a universal language that everyone understands. So many people can relate to music, and it can help them get through tough times or just flat out make them happy. There is a different type of music for every feeling. No matter what part of the world you live in, you can somehow relate to a song just like millions of other people, which is such a cool thing to think about.
However, there are a lot of artists or bands who can touch a lot of people even though they don't have a record deal. I personally love watching artists on YouTube do covers of popular songs, because they have raw talent and continue to work hard every day to pursue their dreams. Today, so many great artists are discovered on YouTube. Look at Justin Bieber, hes an international superstar who got famous from uploading videos on the internet. When YouTubers do acoustic versions of songs, they draw me in because of the emotion and passion they show while preforming.
With all that said, I will be posting videos of different artists or bands, as well as people who do covers of their songs, or any songs for that matter. Just because they aren't famous, doesn't mean you cant connect to their music. On top of this, I will also be posting and discussing what news is happening in the music world.
I love music, I love relating to it, and I love playing it. It is something that will always be a big part of my life, and I hope you enjoy the artists I profile and the news I discuss.
